Eurofins strengthens in clinical analysis in Italy

The French group of biopharmaceutical, environmental and food analysis services Eurofins announced on Tuesday the acquisition of the Italian company Genoma Group, specializing in clinical tests.

"This acquisition gives Eurofins a solid front-line in the clinical testing market in Italy," said the French group in a statement, adding that "the closing of the transaction is expected in the coming weeks."

Genoma Group employs around 100 people in Rome and Milan, for an annual turnover higher than 20 million.

The Italian company "has developed a strong reputation in molecular biology and cytogenetics", particularly in the diagnosis of cancers and in non-invasive prenatal tests, Eurofins added.
